We Are Columbine

Columbine High School is an inclusive family of students, teachers, staff, and parents. As a Rebel community, we stretch for excellence in our thoughts, words, and actions. Working toward our shared vision:



  • Establishing high academic expectations through a high graduation rates, low and decreasing remediation and dropout rates, and success on AP, SAT, ACT, and similar tests.
  • Teaching students the skills they need for success beyond high school. We will promote college and career readiness through an offering of relevant and rigorous learning experiences.
  • Nurturing our students in capacities that help them to be confident, compassionate, gracious, and productive citizens.
  • Creating timely interventions that target student needs and utilize a diversity of resources.

  • Inclusion and acceptance of all students and staff, recognizing every Rebel matters
  • The contribution of our Rebel staff in maintaining a clean, safe, healthy, and friendly educational atmosphere.
  • Creativity and risk taking on the part of all members of the community
  • Diverse and engaging learning environments.
  • Keeping up-to-date with instructional resources and technology, and exploring ways to update and modernize our facility to foster a 21st century learning environment.

  • That consistent enforcement of school policies and procedures, those founded in a culture of respect, provide an environment where students and staff can thrive.
  • In the quality and professional expertise of our faculty, and therefore, they are given the freedom to innovate, experiment and take risks with new teaching strategies that meet the needs of all students
  • That empathetic relationships between teachers and students foster growth.
  • That the teacher evaluation process at Columbine will support professional growth by fostering cooperation, feedback and positive reinforcement.



  • Multiple paths for success, understanding the need for a wide variety of curricular and extra-curricular programs.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to allow teachers the time for collaboration, conferring, reflection, feedback, and planning.
  • Our Rebel faculty advance their craft of teaching by participating in on-going professional development and working closely with colleagues.
