It is with great pride and excitement to announce that Columbine has been chosen as one of a select chosen group of high schools to offer the Advanced Placement Capstone Diploma Program beginning the 2018/19 school year. Columbine will be the first Jeffco Public school to offer the program.
Columbine has maintained a strong AP program for many years with students having had a great deal of success in the many AP courses and on the AP exams. Last year, we had 416 students take 761 exams; 70% of those students earned a passing score of 3 or greater on those exams. In addition, 56 students were AP Scholars -- students who earned a 3 or better on 3 or more AP exams. These successes lead us to believe that the AP Diploma is attainable and within reach for Columbine students.
In order for students to earn an AP Capstone Diploma they will have to:
● Pass 4 AP Exams of their choice throughout their four years in high school.
● Take and pass the exams and requirements for both AP Seminar and AP Research.
If you have specific questions about the Columbine AP Capstone Program, please contact Columbine High School Assistant Principal, Shannon Vigil at
